About Children's Chore
By the Children's Chore team ·
Children's Chore is a chore chart and reward app for families with kids aged 4 to 14. Kids check off chores on big, friendly picture cards; parents approve with one tap; and points turn into rewards the family chooses together.
Why we built it
Before writing any code, we read hundreds of 1–3 star reviews of the most popular chore apps. The same problems came up again and again: saves that silently failed, setup that took an evening, one shared family password, rigid schedules that broke after a missed day, and photo proof that didn't work. Children's Chore is designed around fixing exactly those things.
What we believe
- Less nagging, not more admin. Setup takes about five minutes, and approvals take one tap (or one “Approve all”).
- Every save is confirmed. If something doesn't save, you see it immediately — with a Try again button.
- Encourage, never punish. Missed chores fade with “try tomorrow”. No red X's, no sad faces, no streak shaming.
- Real life is messy. Pause for vacations, follow week-on/week-off custody schedules, and let siblings grab chores that sit undone.
- Kids' privacy first. A parent consents before any child profile exists. Kids never type an email or password, and there are no ads or trackers — ever.
Who it's for
Parents and guardians of kids 4–14 — including families with several kids, shared custody, or kids without their own phone (a family tablet works great). Little ones who can't read yet get picture-first cards and a read-aloud button.
